Z&T Wedding!

Lots of photos to share this month.  We get to blame it on this happy couple:

But first, two mystery photos.  Unrelated, although in this configuration (1st on top of the 2nd), some might consider it tasty:

Back to our happy couple.  They just dropped by on the last leg of their 2 week honeymoon.   2k+ miles in the car, especially after 1+ days of trying to fly from MN to the west coast, is a good stress test for newlyweds.   Here they are contemplating their mental state:

And they concluded that they were in pretty good shape:

Wait a sec, I’m doing this backwards.  Lets start at the beginning, wedding day.    On the way to the wedding, Tiffany's sister’s car battery died.   But the groom was not allowing any hiccups in his wedding day, so he quickly bought a new battery and got it replaced without a spot of grease on his suit:

And the ‘officiate’ (aka Minister, aka2 Uncle Tim), organized and ran the wedding flawlessly.   There was almost a flaw, my crooked tie, but he fixed that:

There was a race car theme.   You can’t see it here, but all the groomsman were all wearing car racing shoes (yes, I was also surprised to hear there is such a thing), and here the ring bearer is delivering the rings to best man Nick using a car engine part instead of the customary ring pillow:

Bride and Groom were, of course, handsome and beaming:

And many pictures were had:

We got to meet lots of fun new people, including Laurie’s Derrick:

At the reception, they were still a beautiful and beaming couple:

Nick gave a wonderful best man speech:

And the wedding cake was cleverly done with cupcakes:

Trying to be equally clever, we dressed up my chicken:

Lots of visiting, here Clark and Nick:

DSCN1956

And lots of dancing, here Helen and Derrick:

And here Zack, Crystal, and Heidi:

All the festivities took their toll on Nick and Chloe:

But not nearly as much as a spontaneous, just like old times, Nick and Zack wrestling match:

DSCN2049

Zack is quite a bit bigger than Nick, but Nick is tenacious and in really good shape, and Zack was drunk, so it was an even match that ended in a draw after 30 minutes:

We played games:

Hugged trees:

Climbed walls (by we, I mean Nick):

And played with the dogs, Mac and Cheese:

These are my 80’s vintage eyeglasses … Elton John sized!

Those dogs really like to snuggle up with Zack:

Actually, they like to snuggle up with everybody:

The day after the wedding, 40+ friends and relatives gathered at the house for more festivities:

Including chain reaction back rubs:

Here are some of the wonderful gifts they received:

Helen and I drove back and stayed a few more days with Mom and Dad in MT.   Here we are on a hike near the Cave:

And here I’m playing with one of Dads lanterns:

DSCN2352

We found some fun plant fossils that showed these arid Montana hills once were a jungle:

DSCN2158

Helen got all excited when Dad offered to introduce here into woodworking:

DSCN2263

She made this plant stand, which we brought back to UT and now is adorned with our Montana fossils and Utah flowers:

I’m having fun building up our indoor and outdoor gardens.  I have ambitions to grow this indoor Ficus  plant into a 20+ foot tree:

We just got the pool warmed up to swimmable when Z&T arrived.   This is Zach flipping out:

One last thing before I close.  Nick and his Skritter team got their Apple IOs app launched last week.  Those of you with I* devices who want to learn a few Chinese characters can find details here:

Bruce

The mystery photos.    The first is the breast of a California Quail, as photographed thru Mom’s nifty telescope that I borrowed:

DSCN2471

And the 2nd was a zoomed in photo from the coals of a backyard bonfire that Zach made for us in MN:
